Really Deep Thoughts

if I ever have any

6/29/07 11:37 pm - Yay for HP

Dude, I NEVER get on LJ, but as I’m sure you know, it’s Harry Potter season. I was 13 when I read the first Potter book, and at the age of 20, I will finally finish the series. It’s been pretty cool growing up with Harry, Hermione and Ron. Without Harry, I don’t think I would have ever visited a message board or chatted with all the cool people I have, from various parts of the world, trying to pick a part a book and discover hidden clues to a vast mystery. I was a big reader before J.K Rowling came storming into the picture, but I’m not sure I would’ve become as observant and thorough a reader as I have without Harry. All in all, if I took the time to thoroughly examine Harry Potter’s influence in my life over the last 7 years, I would find it surprisingly effected, and most definitely for the better.

I'm updating! So why. Well, this journal has been for my online friends which I cut myself off from last year. Not much to say. I certainly missed my fellow Slytherins, but the break was good for my real life (which was suffering). Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has lured me back online though. I hope everyone is having fun with the new book.

My very British name is Amelia Cavendish.

I should have known it would be Amelia, are names are too similar. Dana and Meredith both got Margaret Cavendish, Christian got Quentin Cavendish, but Sydney takes the cake, Chelsea Cavendish.

Fun. :D

I could not decide if I liked hot or cold weather, so for cold weather:

You're Watership Down!

by Richard Adams

Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're
actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their
assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they
build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd
be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.

and for hot weather:

You're Love in the Time of Cholera!

by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Like Odysseus in a work of Homer, you demonstrate undying loyalty by
sleeping with as many people as you possibly can. But in your heart you never give
consent! This creates a strange quandary of what love really means to you. On the
one hand, you've loved the same person your whole life, but on the other, your actions
barely speak to this fact. Whatever you do, stick to bottled water. The other stuff
could get you killed.

I've been meaning to post this for some time.

Tom Delay is an evil bastard.

Why am I stating this now? I've sadly realized why goddamn Delay has been popping up at the local schools and prancing around NASA. Because it's his! Chris Bell is no longer my congressman! Evil Delay is. District 25 has moved and I am being occupied by District 22.

Those outside of Texas may not know what I am talking about. Tom Delay, Evil U.S. House Majority Leader put in a call to the state legislator to draw up a new map that will wield 6 new seats for the GOP. Now there is a time and place for redistricting, it comes right after the census. Legislation actually tried to pass a map off in 2001 and it failed. This past legislation, 2003 redistricting came up again. After three special sessions (shit load of money), a couple of Democrat standoffs in New Mexico and Oklahoma, and a personal visit from Tom Fucking Evil Delay a map was drawn and passed. Of course I paid attention to the news and wrote my rep.s and was disappointed in the end, but the news that my district has been moved is too much.

1. What is your Myers-Briggs type?
INFP, the percentages change, but never enough to move off of these four areas. I AM an INFP.

2. What do you like most about your personality?
N and P parts. I love how I take in the world around me.

3. What do you like least about your personality?
Well, if I have to pick one I suppose the F. No reason, it just comes in fourth.

4. If an evil fairy made you change one of your letters, which would you change and why?
I guess my F to a T. I'm rather close actually. Hmm, the F really does make me more I dunno, human. Still, if I had to change something, I'd go that route.

5. What letter would you never change?
P, see questions one for more info.

6. Do you know the Myers-Briggs types of your friends? Notice any patterns?
I know alot of INFJ's and ENFP's, online and in real life. I don't really know any INFP's though? Strange. I am pretty sure a few of my friends are ESFP's. Come to think of it, Mer and Syd kinda fall in that group too. I think my dad is an INFP. Hmm, that F is showing up alot. I asked Jordan take this, he is an INTJ, slightly I and moderately on all the others. I am slightly I and F, moderately P and strongly N.

As you can see, this journal is friends only. This is to prevent people I know in real life from reading it. If you only know me in pretend or on the computer, leave a comment and I'll see about adding you.
